    Late Antique and Early Christian Art

    An introductory survey of the art and architecture of the Mediterranean world from the origins of Christian art in the third century CE to the onset of Iconoclasm in the eighth century. In addition to a detailed examination of surviving monuments and art objects, an emphasis is placed on the sources of Christian iconography and the relationship between art, theology and liturgy.
